My name is Elena and I am a Buteyko breathing instructor. My interest in breathing techniques began during the pandemic when I was looking for ways in which to ease my anxiety for myself and my family. This is when I discovered the Buteyko (pronounced boo tay ko) method and began my training in 2021 with Patrick Mckeown at the Buteyko Clinic International. Patrick is a former student of the late Dr Konstantin Buteyko, a Ukrainian doctor, who developed the method in the 1950s.
During my training and subsequent work, I discovered that I myself was a chronic mouth breather and had disfunctional breathing patterns. Using the breathing techniques myself I was able to improve my sleep, circulation, mood and ofcourse anxiety. Since qualifying as a breathing instructor I have researched other breathing techniques and have incorporated these into my practice. I have been able to help countless people of all ages using these breathing techniques.
The Buteyko Method consists of a series of breathing exercises and guidelines specifically designed to reduce over-breathing which has been shown to cause various health problems. It is especially useful in helping children, teenagers and adults with asthma, sleep disorders and anxiety. But can also help to treat high blood pressure, stress, panic attacks and depression.
The Buteyko Method is a lifestyle choice. It involves re-educating your breathing pattern to improve blood circulation, oxygen delivery, and airway functioning which ultimately will have a positive effect on every aspect of your wellbeing.
It is a series of exercises which aim to make your breathing become light, low and slow.
Practising the Buteyko Method will help:
In addition breathwork, can be used to help children learn to regulate their emotional states, teenagers to help them calm themselves before exams, adults to focus before public speaking, mature adults to cope with stress and anxiety.

Sessions
Private (1 TO 1/Groups)
Whether it's to help with symptoms of asthma, panic disorder, anxiety or childhood dysfunctional breathing, we can tailor sessions specific to particular needs.
I generally recommend 3 to 5 sessions for 1 to 1. Group courses are made up of 5 sessions.
Both can be given in person at a West London location or online.
Schools
Poor breathing patterns at a young age can affect both physical and mental development. Helping children to understand how breath awareness can affect them physically and emotionally is a life skill that you can’t underestimate.
I offer age appropriate courses to schools, either as part of the curriculum or as a breakfast or after school club.
Corporate Workshops
With stress levels at an all time high, giving staff the knowledge and skills to manage these will not only benefit the workforce but ultimately benefit the employer.
Sessions can be tailored to fit in to a lunch time break or as a half day workshop.
My private and group sessions are held around the Ealing area. However, online classes are always available.
For corporate and home visits I am available to travel further afield. Please message me to discuss.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to arrange a session.
